In the same window, users can see the file’s current location, and the desired destination, and a status bar shows the progress. While copying and pasting, you can verify the files to see that they have been copied identically. With TeraCopy, this process of copying and pasting becomes controlled, easy to perform, and secureĪ simple interface opens up, with tabs of the File list, Target, Options, and Log.

Till the entire process is not complete, there is always a risk of the process being terminated and must be started all over again. Copy files in a blinkĬopying large sets of files has always been a hassle, as it not only takes a lot of time to move from one location to another, but the entire process of selecting, dragging, and pasting is rather stress-inducing. The program by Code Sector is a much more controlled way of transferring files. The program works on Windows XP, Windows 8, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, and Windows 10. The program is used for frequent file transfers, large file sizes, moving files from separate hard drives. This is in contrast to internet connectivity where speed drops with increase in distance from the router.TeraCopy is a program to copy and paste large files at a high speed. I want local files sharing to be faster over Wi-Fi and practically I cant connect my devices using ethernet cables.įor testing purpose kept the devices close to the router still not even a slight improvement was observed. This what I want to fix, I don't want to use internet for local file transfers. So my internet is faster than my local network. Now if I want to transfer files I put in Google drive and download in the other PC since my internet is fast ~100Mbps. So my question is shouldn't I be getting roughly 150/8~ 18-19 MB/s(Megabytes) while file transfers? When I do speed tests on Ookla I get around 80-90mbps that's over the same Wi-Fi when I access Internet. Windows 10 shows link speed as 150 mbps when connect to that network(megabits/s).

All are connected using WI-FI 4(802.11N standard). Now my issue is, when I try to transfer files between two laptops the speed is horribly low, I get only 2-3 MB/s (megabytes/s). All of them appear in the Network section of File explorer. I've set my wifi as private n/w and turned on network discovery on all the PCs. I have couple of laptops connected to home Wi-Fi network.
